wow,  i have been keeping snakes for over 12 years now.  about 4 years ago i got this itch to breed my ball pythons so i started getting some to raise up and breed.  the 2 main ones i purchased were 2 100% het albinos from john piro for $950.  my family thought i was crazy but oh well.

fast forward 3 years of patently waiting and you get this!

Copulating

Eggs

Hatchlings

yeah… who rocks?  the only thing that sucks about this whole thing is that the albino was a male.  i have very limited space and im looking to the future about my plans so it doesn’t make sense for me to have 2 male albinos around.  i found a local breeder and traded my albino for about $750 worth of snakes!

i wasnt done! i also hatched some pastels this year.

Copulating

Eggs

Hatchlings

i ended up with 3 normal males, 1 female pastel and 2 male pastels.  i will be keeping the females from both clutches and getting rid of all of the males.  this was a great experience!  i cant wait until next year.

post painting my dads bike

July 31st, 2008

sooooo, some may call me crazy and some may call me stupid.  i say im both.

i got some “extra” money from insurance so i bought my dad some real automotive paint for his moto.  i painted it years ago with flat black paint and a shitload of clear coat.  it turned out good and lasted a long time but it was looking worn so his bike was in need of a fresh paintjob.

we stuck with flat black but i bought the same brand as my flat orange.

http://www.tcpglobal.com/kustomshop/

this paint is awesome.  it doesnt need a clear coat and resists chemicals and UV rays.  and its cheap.

so the only problem is my dad lives in PA and i live in VA.  well i hoped on the bike friday (7-18) at 3pm and headed north… and west.  i made great time.  it only took me a little over 7 hours.

this was right before i left work.  i had a great trip home.  while i was on 17 i snapped a few pics…

i was bored… what can i say?

i woke up the next day pretty early and started tearing my dads bike down.  i borrowed my buddies spray gun and was pretty excited to try it out.  after i got everything tore down i layed it all out and started

painting.

it was coming a long nicely at that point.  only a few pieces to go on.  i also bought him a hard trunk and an extra seat so he can use it when he rides to and from work.  here is the final product.

so in under 24 hours i drove 400 miles to pa, tore my dads bike apart, painted it and put it back together.  i think i did pretty damn good.

the next day we headed out and my dad road back the whole way with me to va beach.  it was awesome yet again.  amazing… i love these trips.  i will remember them for the rest of my life.

my dads nuts.  he drove the whole way then slept until 6AM then headed another 6 hours back to bedford to his truck.

another successful trip, 850 miles in less then 48 hours.

post one flew over the… guardrail

July 9th, 2008

Filed under: Moto — eXtensive @ 11:02 am

so i was riding home from work and some idiot decided to cut across a couple of lanes and smack me.  i then went flying over the guardrail and my bike was laid down and slid a good 20 yards.  i was probably only going 35mph thankfully.  i dont remember what happened and i told that to the EMT’s that arrived.  they then immediatly would let me move.  to make a long story short im fine but they cut my clothes off and i was in a neckbrace for 3 and a half hours.

the accident was totally the other guys fault despite his rantings of “but but my turn signal was on”  no buddy you cant just put your turn signal on and go plowing over everybody you see.  anyways… his insurance is taking care of everything.

on another note… before i lost consciousness i remember the harley rider who was behind me speeding away around me.  thanks for stopping you douche.

thankfully i was wearing my gear.  my knee was killing me and my right elbow was jacked up pretty bad.  i probably would be dead if it wasn’t for my helmet but whatever.  this is why i wear my gear.  boots, jack, pants, gloves and helmet no exceptions.

here are some pics

as you can see my sliders did an AWESOME job.  now that the bike is down and out ill have time to install my 636 frontend, im also going to put some buell dual headlights in the front.  i cant wait.

post fathers day weekend ride ‘08

well since moving to va beach 2 things have happened. 1: i used to ride with my dad pretty much every week and obviously since i moved i dont anymore. 2: there arent many twisties around here so my tires have since become a block and my skills i once had have diminished. i needed to do something about this.

the plan was to leave work friday and head to carmichaels pa. my boss let me leave around 2:30pm so i headed out. it takes me about 7 hours to get there via a car so i figured it would take 8 by bike. ive done this trip before on the busa but i forgot how long it took.

the weather looked horrible. it was beautiful in va beach but my mom said it has been storming all day in pa. i didnt want to reschedule and i was already packed so i headed out. i pretty much took 17 all the way to 68 in maryland. once i got to 68 it started to rain really bad. this didn’t deter me as ive ridden in rain before. i put on my rain pants and headed out. my jacket did an ok job but the rain went through the vents. my tires did a surprisingly good job going 90mph on 68 passing up cars. i got to my parents house unscathed in 9 hours.

saturday was supposed to be a local ride with my friends brian, buck and my dad but it rained all day. brian did come over and we got to shoot the shit for awhile and i helped him hook up his indiglo gauges he bought for his freashly painted thundercat. we actually ended up wearing the same shirt. all your base are belong to us.

after a really good breakfast my mom made me and brian buck and shayna arrived. buck built a moto just for this occasion.

damian also made an appearance with bentley. damian tried to make a go at riding motos but it just wasnt for him.

while we were bsing me and my dad put on his fathers day present. my sister and i got him new sprockets and a chain for the SV. those went on without a hitch and it looked like the rain was going to pass over so buck, shayna, damian and brian departed.

later on in that day like 30 min before it got dark the sun came out (go figure). so me and my dad went to take a little ride and to fill up our tanks.

i found out that my skills i once had have fully diminished. i was horrible in the turns. i was hesitant with the new bike and being that i havent been on windy roads in quite some time. i was worried about the next day so i told my dad we needed to take it slow in the beginning.

we woke up the next day and departed from carmichaels around 9:30AM

i originally wanted to take a lot of pics this time but i just didnt want to stop riding. the roads were so much fun. we were flying down a road though and my dad lowsided about 100 miles into the trip.

thank god for gear and motosliders! he was going around 30 mph on a turn right before this one.

a truck crossed the double yellow and screwed up his line and he ended up going down. he had a huge bump on his elbow, bunch of bruises scrapes on his knees, his thumb was bruised and bloody but all in all he faired really well. basically he picked up the bike and we continued our trip… a little slower this time. the bike also faired great. 2 broken turn signals, a bent shifter and a scraped up moto slider is all that happened.

about 30 miles from richmond my dad left me to head back.

we said our goodbyes and all in all it was an awesome trip! i ended up being a lot more confident in the turns and went to the edge of my rear tire.  no more chicken strips for me.  my rear rim was just covered in rubber.

i headed towards va beach to go see my fiance and dog that i missed!

post butt mod

well i wanted a new seat for 2 reasons. 1, my seat had orange paint all over it and 2 it wasn’t comfortable for shit. 40+ miles in it and my ass was sore. this was not acceptable.

sure i could go with buying a corbin or sargent. i could even pay a professional to do it but what would be the fun in that? so i set out to recover both seats and put a gel insert in the drivers seat.

i got the gel, memory foam and smoothing fabric from Kno Place Upholstery Co on ebay. here are the directions i used.

http://www.knoplace.com/Gel_Pad_Installation.html

i went and bought a $10 electric knife from wal mart and some $2 spray adhesive. i started taking the stock covers off and didnt look back. here are some pics.

both seats before

fabric im going to use

gel, memory foam and smoothing foam installed

w00t

recovered!

i havent gone on a long distance ride but i can already tell that it is a major improvement. i will be traveling to PA shortly so i will definitely know then if it helped.

i thought they turned out really cool looking.

post 636 rear shock install

May 10th, 2008

Filed under: Mods, Moto — eXtensive @ 11:08 am

easy mod. ive only been on a few twisties down here in VA as opposed to riding in PA but i still can notice improvements that need to be made. the rear shock wasn’t bad but there is always room for improvement. somebody from the z1000 forums was selling a ‘03 636 shock so i jumped on it. i also bought 3/4″ shorter dogbones to raise the rear a little.

here are the dogbones purchased from Goodrode on the z1000 forums. 3/4″ shorter. i painted them low gloss black.

here are the shocks side by side. not only am i getting a better shock im getting rid of the red!

my trusty torque wrench. 25 ft/lbs per shock/dogbones bolts and 94 ft/lbs for the rear axel nut.

you have to raise the bike because you are taking the rear shock off which supports it. there are many different ways but i just jacked it up with a car jack and put 2 jack stands on each side of a plank of wood. worked great.

i will post a report as soon as i get to ride this thing. still waiting on the oring for the fuel pump… ugh.
